Transport Minister Norman Baker has launched the ‘Anywhere Working’ consortium, its purpose being to enable employers to understand the benefits of flexible working. From January 2012, a hub of resources will become available to employers, where training, trial technology and case studies will be offered, providing employers with access to the tools needed to work in a more flexible way.
The Minister has stated that the advantages of increased flexibility are undeniable, including productivity and efficiency savings, a reduced carbon footprint and employee wellbeing. Quoted advantages include providing assistance to employers in any forthcoming periods of severe winter weather.
