Excellent experience start to finish – always very responsive to any queries and the turnaround on the property I was buying was very quick, even in the busy time leading up to stamp duty deadline. Jenny was always very helpful and went above and beyond to close on a short timescale.
The Property team at Davis Blank Furniss has acted for long-standing client Phil Healey on a recent deal that will see him open a brand new restaurant – 1761 – and downstairs bar – Lily’s Bar – in the former Avalanche unit on Booth Street in Manchester city centre next month.
The team, which was headed up by property partner Richard Hamilton, provided Phil with various legal services including advising on the legal title of the site and the proposed lease terms.
The 130-cover restaurant called 1761, which was named after the date of the birth of the Industrial Revolution in Manchester, will be on the ground floor; whilst downstairs Lily’s Bar – including its gigantic fish tank with 118,000 litres of water and marine fish – has been designed to create the sense of ‘stepping back in time’. The bar will also boast Lily’s Library which will be available for private hire.
When they open to the public on Monday 13th November 1761 will open daily for brunch, lunch and dinner from 11am to 10pm, and Lily’s will be open from midday to midnight daily. Phil also owns and operates the Victoria Lounge in Glossop.
Richard Hamilton said: “This is a fantastic deal and we were delighted to advise Phil on it. We all wish him every success for the opening.”
Phil Healey added: “This is an exciting project and it was great to work with Richard and the Davis Blank Furniss team once again.”
