Excellent experience start to finish – always very responsive to any queries and the turnaround on the property I was buying was very quick, even in the busy time leading up to stamp duty deadline. Jenny was always very helpful and went above and beyond to close on a short timescale.
Davis Blank Furniss has today formally announced the promotions of two key members of its fee earning team. Both are based in the firm’s City Centre head office.
The first is Anna Bunting who has been promoted from associate to partner. Anna has worked at Davis Blank Furniss since 2001. She joined the firm as a trainee and has worked in the Employment department since her arrival. Anna’s primary role sees her providing advice and practical solutions to a wide range of employment issues for both employers and employees. She covers all stages of the relationship from recruitment through to termination and regularly represents clients in tribunal proceedings. She also has additional expertise in gaming, licensing and driving offences enabling her to provide a complementary service for her clients which operate in the often complex licensed trade and transport sectors.
The second is Claire Smith (nee Reddington) who becomes an associate solicitor. Claire has been with the firm since 2004 and she has worked in the Employment and Litigation departments since 2006. Her main focus is dealing with all aspects of commercial litigation including; debt recovery, injunctive relief, shareholder and directors’ disputes, general contractual disputes, property litigation and terms and conditions disputes. Claire also provides employment law advice to clients ranging from day to day disciplinary matters to redundancy procedures, dismissals, compromise agreements and tribunal claims. One of Claire’s most high profile cases was when she was part of the team which advised on the recent £30m sale of PH Jones Group Ltd to British Gas owner Centrica.
Kate Oldfield, managing partner at Davis Blank Furniss, commented; ‘As a business, we firmly believe in recognising the talent that we have right here. Both Anna and Claire have shown real drive and flair so their promotions are much deserved and we look forward to them being a central part of our future.’
Anna added; ‘I have always been proud to be part of Davis Blank Furniss so becoming a partner is a great achievement.’
