Excellent experience start to finish – always very responsive to any queries and the turnaround on the property I was buying was very quick, even in the busy time leading up to stamp duty deadline. Jenny was always very helpful and went above and beyond to close on a short timescale.
Davis Blank Furniss has presented Willow Wood Hospice with a cheque for £1,232.00. We raised the money during our recent Lasting Powers of Attorney Week.
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) enables you to appoint a trusted friend, relative or professional to make decisions about your finances, property and personal welfare in the event that you are in an accident or you develop an illness that leaves you unable to make such decisions for yourself.
During this year’s LPA Week, we offered various discounts to anyone who wished to put an LPA in place and for every one drafted, we donated £25.00 to Willow Wood.
Located in Ashton-under-Lyne, Willow Wood provides specialist palliative care to those suffering with life-threatening illnesses. It first opened its doors for day hospice patients in May 1999 and for in-patients the following September. Since then, the dedicated Willow Wood team has cared for thousands of local people, their families and carers. In fact in the last year alone the Hospice cared for over 2,200 new patients who were in need of their specialist care.
The week long promotion included both types of LPA: the first covers your property and financial affairs; and the second your personal welfare and health.
Laura Johnson, private client solicitor at Davis Blank Furniss, commented: “This year’s LPA Week was a huge success and we are delighted that we raised so much for the Hospice. It does vital work for the community and we are already thinking about how we can raise more funds for such a worthwhile cause.”
John Fellowes, head of fundraising & PR at Willow Wood Hospice, added: “We’d like to thank the whole team at Davis Blank Furniss for their efforts. This money will go to helping local people, their families and carers.”
