Excellent experience start to finish – always very responsive to any queries and the turnaround on the property I was buying was very quick, even in the busy time leading up to stamp duty deadline. Jenny was always very helpful and went above and beyond to close on a short timescale.
What does your role at Davis Blank Furniss involve?
My role at Davis Blank Furniss involves dealing and assisting with a wide range of residential property transactions; including purchases, sales, remortgages and transfer of equity’s. I assist Jennifer Smith and my other colleagues within the Property department on a daily basis.
What is the best thing about your job?
I think the best thing about my job is seeing the progress of a matter from the start right through to the end. It gives me a sense of satisfaction in completing each stage of a conveyancing transaction; i.e. from the initial instructions through to exchange and completion. I enjoy having the opportunity to deal directly with clients and seeing that I am able to make a difference by assisting them with their queries.
What is the best case that you have been involved in?
I don’t really have a specific case that was the best as such; however, the more expensive property transactions tend to be the more interesting; such as a £1.75 million purchase of a new build within the Bowden area, which the Property team recently completed.
Name the person who has had the biggest influence on your career.
I would have to say my mum and dad have had the biggest influence as they have always pushed me from an early age and they have always wanted me to pursue whatever path I choose. I decided not to go to university, so my mum always pushed me to apply for jobs and go for interviews. Luckily Davis Blank Furniss was only my second ever job interview – I got the job and I have been here ever since!
If you were not working at a law firm, what would you be doing/where would you be?
This time five years ago I never would have thought that I would be working in Law, as I had aspirations to be in the RAF. From the age of 13, I was part of the Air Training Corps which involved travelling to various RAF bases around the country, flying a plane/glider and weapons handling/shooting. Doing this gave me a lot of skills such as attention to detail, discipline, and team work which I can apply to my current role at Davis Blank Furniss.
