Davis Blank Furniss LLP is a Manchester-based law firm, offering a wide range of services to both the business and private sectors. We also have a Glossop office which is integral to our operation and our catchment area.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Employment Law Solicitor who will be a key driver in helping grow our Employment Law Department together with our Partner and Head of the Department, Shiva Shadi.
The role is for a full-time, experienced and dedicated Employment Lawyer to join our vibrant and friendly team based in our Manchester office.
This role will see you working closely with Shiva on an interesting and varied contentious and non-contentious workload representing both employees and companies.
You will provide clear, practical expert advice and representation for our clients in all areas of employment law and HR issues including drafting contracts, employee related policies and documents, grievance, disciplinary, and redundancy procedures, all aspects of discrimination, the TUPE Regulations, whistleblowing and all workplace disputes in the Employment Tribunal from start to finish including pre-claim negotiations and Settlement Agreements.
Having an established client following will be a significant advantage and your ability to network, expand contacts, develop new business opportunities, give seminars and introduce new work sources is essential whilst always maintaining existing client relationships.
You will be responsible for providing high quality, specialised support to the Corporate Team as well as Partners of other Departments in the Firm.
Your role will also include supervising and mentoring trainee solicitors or paralegals where appropriate.

This role is ideal for a personable Employment Lawyer with 4-7 years’ recent PQE experience or equivalent in a similar role, who is looking to join a well-established and highly regarded Firm.
