The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated Residential Conveyancing Assistant to join our growing Residential Property team in Manchester
In this role, you will work closely with Partners on a high-quality, varied caseload. You will handle everything from sales and purchases to HMO transactions and unregistered titles, while managing direct communication with clients, lenders, and estate agents.
Key Responsibilities
- File Progression: Submitting searches, handling Land Registry enquiries, and assisting conveyancers with administrative and pre-completion tasks.
- Post-Completion: Administering all post-completion procedures, including submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) returns and Land Registry applications.
- Client & Third-Party Liaison: Taking initial details, providing quotes, managing appointments, and providing regular file updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Financial Administration: Checking balances, requesting electronic payments, and preparing completion packs (including completion statements and invoices).
- Systems Management: Maintaining accurate digital records on our case management system and electronic legal accounts system.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months’ recent experience in a residential conveyancing role (preferred).
- Tech Savvy: Strong legal administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365 and digital case management systems.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently, manage a high-volume workload, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Core Skills: Sharp attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Client Care: Outstanding interpersonal skills with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is highly advantageous but not essential.
