The Opportunity
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a full-time Residential Conveyancing Paralegal to join our friendly and growing team at our office in Manchester.
Our busy Residential Property department handles a broad range of conveyancing matters. In this role, you will work closely with a Partner and Senior Associate Residential Conveyancer on a varied caseload including:
- Sales and purchases
- Re-mortgages
- Transfers of equity
- HMO property transactions
- Freehold, leasehold, and unregistered title matters
You will liaise directly with clients, solicitors, lenders, financial advisers, estate agents, management companies, and other third parties via telephone, written correspondence, and face-to-face meetings. The role will also involve drafting legal documents, supporting fee earners with diary and file management, carrying out source of funds checks, and assisting with general administrative duties as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking full instructions from new clients and providing quotations
- Managing a portfolio of sale conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion
- Dealing with requisitions and pre-completion matters
- Keeping clients updated on the progress of their transactions
- Liaising with solicitors, lenders, financial advisers, estate agents, and management companies
- Maintaining accurate records on the case management system and third-party applications
- Submitting searches for purchase transactions
- Assisting conveyancers with administrative and pre-completion tasks
- Supporting conveyancing fee earners and the wider team
- Reporting to lenders and other relevant parties
- Preparing completion packs, including completion statements and invoices
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum of 6 months’ recent conveyancing experience in a similar role (preferred)
- Strong legal administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting strict deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage a high-volume workload
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding client care and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
