Davis Blank Furniss LLP is a Manchester and Glossop-based law firm, committed to providing a wide range of legal services for both business and private sectors.

We are looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Private Client Lawyer to head up our Private Client Department and who will be a key driver in helping grow and modernise the team.

The role is for a full-time, experienced and dedicated Private Client Lawyer to join our vibrant and friendly team based in our Glossop office.  The role will be to provide strategic leadership and management of the Private Client Department, as well as participate in business development and marketing to drive the further growth and profitability of the team.

This role will see you working on an interesting and varied caseload.  The successful applicant should have up-to-date and in depth knowledge of Wills, Trusts, Probate, Inheritance Tax and Powers of Attorney, as well as be able to be relied upon to provide innovative yet straightforward legal advice and support to guarantee that the very best outcome is achieved.  Accordingly, you must be able to demonstrate extensive experience in dealing with a wide breadth of Private Client matters and have a minimum of five years PQE to be considered for the role.  A source of work would be advantageous, and your ability to network, expand contacts, develop new business opportunities, give seminars and introduce new work sources is essential whilst always maintaining existing client relationships.  Current STEP membership preferred.

Your role will also include supervising and mentoring fee earners including trainee solicitors, paralegals and assistants where appropriate.  You will also be responsible for providing high quality, specialised support to Partners of other Departments in the Firm.

This role is ideal for a personable Private Client Lawyer with 5 years’ recent PQE experience or equivalent in a similar role, who is looking to join a well-established and highly regarded Firm.
