We welcomed Seán to the firm … in October 2023 as a partner and Head of our Property Litigation team.

Key areas of experience include… all forms of property litigation ranging from portfolio management – including dilapidations, lease renewals, rent review, possession claims, service charge disputes; to development disputes – including site clearance strategies, dealing with easements, restrictive covenants, nuisance claims, telecommunication disputes, rights of light, adverse possession, overage and pre-emption disputes. His expertise also covers secured lending realisation, providing property related insolvency advice, advising on professional negligence claims relating to property as well as contract disputes relating to land.

Seán has been consistently ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners for over 10 years. He is also listed in the Business Today Lawyer Awards 2023 as one of the Top 10 Influential Real Estate Lawyers in the Northwest. Seán regularly acts in high value litigations before the High Court and he has been before the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court as well as acting in the leading case on easements.

He fits in because… he is technically excellent, which enables him to give robust advice, but he also has a strong commercial understanding of his clients’ needs. This enables him to work with clients to come up with pragmatic strategies, avoid problems and resolve disputes.

At the end of the day… Seán spends his spare time with his wife and two children who do not share his enthusiasm for property!
